Getting out of where I’d been locked away for so long wasn’t easy. I had to run a lot, without rest, to keep moving without being caught in that cold, dark forest. I didn’t know where I was; my instinct just screamed at me to run without stopping. I was barefoot; my feet took the worst of it — they were hurt, with lacerating wounds, and they burned from all the stones, branches and roots I stepped on. My hands were hurt too, and so was my face. As soon as I managed to get out of the forest, I had to walk many kilometers down a lonely road. I couldn’t see my appearance clearly, but it must have been horrifying, because several vehicles passed and none stopped to help me. Well, what did I expect? Today everyone was in costume!
“Shit, I’m racing the clock,” I complained.
I took a rest; with the little clothing I had on, I began to feel cold, so I urgently needed to find a way to protect myself; I needed to change my appearance. I focused on what was around me, and I managed to hear the sound of a small stream… That’s why I loved the mountains — there were places where I could easily get the precious liquid.
I cleaned my face and tried to wash my clothes, to remove some of the blood and the tree stains, so I’d scare the people who came near me a little less.
And so it was: as soon as I headed back toward the road, two cars were coming. In one I sensed a woman with a little girl; at that moment I hid — I didn’t want the child to be frightened by my presence. But in the second car coming closer there were two men, and I knew that if I caught their attention, they could help me get through this terrible situation.
As expected, the car stopped near me.
“Miss, what happened to you? Let me help you,” said the somewhat dark-skinned man, who looked about twenty-five — the perfect age to bring warmth to any woman, since they’re a bit more mature and aware of their reality.
As best I could, I smiled at him; I had to concentrate on keeping my face calm and avoid shocking them with my terrible pain. I didn’t want to scare him; it wasn’t a good moment.
“Who did this to you? Why are you like this? It’s obvious from those bruises, your hair and your thinness that you’ve been neglected for a long time. Were you kidnapped? Were you held captive?”
I stayed silent and watched as he invited me into the car, but the idiot didn’t touch me.
The other man, who was behind the wheel, once I was inside the car, kept driving, but this time he was focused on taking me to a hospital. I knew what he was thinking; the minds of guys like this were an open book to me. That’s how I found them more easily. In fact, he was even complaining that I was all battered, because he’d have happily gagged me and raped me over and over until he was exhausted — but he was with his best friend, so that was his limit.
“Hey, woman, what’s your name?” the dark-skinned one insisted, touching my shoulder. “Tell me you’re in costume, God, tell me you are, and if so… let me tell you it’s the best costume I’ve seen in years.”
Until at last the bastard did what I needed — I had to be touched by a man to take on whatever appearance I wanted and stop feeling the pains of a mortal — I admitted in my mind, gathering strength.
As soon as he gave me the power to manifest, I knew I could have complete control of the situation. When I changed, the young man’s face went white as a sheet of paper; the other one was focused on his filthy thoughts, a bit distracted from what was about to happen in his back seat.
I could feel my face and hands regaining that smooth, beautiful feeling; I stroked my face, and the wounds had already closed. My rags little by little turned into a beautiful black dress, and when I ran my hands through my hair, it untangled itself, falling over me like a long, very shiny black waterfall.
“Uh, who are you?” he stammered.
“I’m not your nightmare, I’m his — but you were in the right place at the wrong time.”
I barely spoke to him in a whisper; I couldn’t afford to lose the little strength the young man had given me. I’d already wasted a lot of energy on my vanity of looking good.
The truth was that they’d been locking me away for centuries so I couldn’t hurt anyone for a whole year, but this would be my moment; he had given me minutes to anchor my life to this world in a clever way.
I pulled him close and breathed in his life force; it left his whole body and entered through my mouth. When I finished, the guy collapsed onto the seat, lifeless, his skin clinging to his body, as if he could crumble to dust at any moment. When I looked up, I realized his companion had seen everything I did.
“What? Don’t you feel like gagging me and raping me until you’re exhausted anymore?” My voice was a thunderclap inside the vehicle. The sarcasm oozing from my skin was palpable, but I assumed my face showed total, understandable mockery toward the idiotic human.
The guy with the intense brown eyes was stunned; he couldn’t say a word for the fear he felt, his whole body trembling in reaction to it.
“What are you? Wh-wh-wh-who are you? What’s your name?” I barely heard his voice; he was truly terrified.
Within seconds I was sitting in the passenger seat, smiling, and I couldn’t help sitting a bit sideways and hiking my dress up sensually, high enough for my long, beautiful legs to show. To amuse myself and scare him a little more, I let worms and snakes come out around my feet; the man’s bulging eyes showed me he was properly frightened.
I wanted to scare the bastard to the core, so I stopped the car’s engine without warning. My body didn’t move, but his flew out through the windshield, shattering the glass and rolling a few meters away from it. As soon as he began to get up to flee, I placed myself beside him. It was then that the worms, centipedes and snakes began to crawl over his hands and body, in a bloody dance, beautiful to watch. He grew desperate and started screaming for help.
I liked him more when his thoughts desired me, but I couldn’t help enjoying his fear and agonizing screams of pain. He had a broken leg and his right arm was badly hurt; I could smell that kind of blood from miles away. This fucking murderer and rapist of young girls would be exquisite.
I lifted him effortlessly by the neck and smiled, to show him my real teeth. Sharp, slightly long teeth that stuck out of my now beautiful mouth.
“Let go of me,” he begged, and I felt disgust at his cowardice — the bastard was wetting his pants.
“I suppose many begged you for the same thing, but you ignored them. Now you’re the fool begging for the same? Life didn’t take long to hand you what you’ve given, did it?”
“Let go of me, I beg you,” the wretch choked on his own saliva and blood.
I couldn’t help it; I squeezed his windpipe harder. I didn’t want to hear him speak again.
“Since you’re about to die, I’ll tell you who I am, just so that in hell you can say who killed you — I keep the damn count of the ones I’ve murdered.”
The guy’s tears began to flow. How degrading; it made me want to spit on him, but I don’t spit out my food.
“I’m a Boszorkány Eltemetett — I think you’ll forget the name, so I’ll tell you in Spanish so you understand: I’m a buried witch. In my living days in this shitty world, I cast enchantments and love bindings on men, urged on by desperate women, but they all ended in tragedy. That’s why I was cursed, tied up and buried alive, only to come out once a year and feed on a single soul. I didn’t hold back with your friend — he was divinely a gentleman — but with you I’m going to fill myself up.”
“Boszorkány, stop!” my fucking protector demanded from behind me.
“And now what do you want? You’re in my way,” I answered, annoyed.
“I said stop. You’ve already eaten once; you have to wait until next year to do it again. I’ve come, as always, to tie you up.”
This time it won’t be easy, I thought, smiling.
The strong, handsome, imposing warrior of a man threatened me with a sharp sword. And the piercing iron bothered me around my spine.
I didn’t care that I was being warned; within seconds, I squeezed a little harder and heard the crack of the wretch’s neck as it broke between my hands.
My protector, without warning, drove the sword into my back and pierced my whole body. It didn’t hurt; I was too strong — I’d eaten a gentleman’s soul. I hadn’t been this energized in years.
I should have broken the rules before. How foolish I was.
“This year, that’s not going to be easy, is it?” he murmured, looking me in the eyes, without fear.
I shook my head with a smile on my face. I would bind the wretch, and that way I could stay in this world to keep feeding on sadistic, abusive men — although after this last one, I was sure I’d change the menu. Sincere, gentlemanly men were more divine and gave me greater strength.
I absorbed the little essence left of the wretch I’d just murdered. His soul stood beside us, terrified, confused, because it could see how horrible and frightening my essence really was.
“Go to hell, you damn spawn, you’re uglier than me, so change your face,” I demanded in a terrifying tone of voice, so much so that the soul reflexively covered its ears as if it were still alive. “On top of being a wretch, he was also a fucking brute!”
“It’s your turn to go to your little hell too — of course, a less hot one than the one that wretch you just murdered got,” my protector insisted with a half-smile on his face.
“I have a feeling it’s going to cost you,” I answered again, laughing.
My protector pushed the sword in deeper, until he had his chest against my back.
“Thank you for this carelessness, thank you so much for getting close.”
I didn’t know if it would work… I had to try.
In one quick movement I turned around, grabbed him by the neck and squeezed without hesitation; ignoring my pain, I finished reciting a powerful spell — I was the queen of love bindings among the living and my former companions for a reason.
“A férfi el fog állni,
mert a boszorkány fog futni
én örökre menekülni
és ez az ember minden találkozás fog halni
A mai és mindig is lesz
az én hatalmi Én mindig nyerni.”
“The man will come to a stop,
Because the witch will run
Forever I will flee
And this man, at every meeting, will die
Because from today on, this is how it will always be
With my power, I will always beat you.”
The protector fell motionless onto the asphalt, strangled by forces as powerful as himself. The spell had worked; I was still good at invoking.
He would die the same way every time he touched me, and since he was the only one assigned by divine order to watch over me, I would be relatively free forever. The interesting part was that I would never be buried again.

The witch straightened her beautiful black dress and walked away, longing for another man to pass by so she could end up doing the same thing.
For years, the witch took it upon herself to free as many buried companions as possible, cruelly murdering their protectors. They did it all on the thirty-first of every October, faithfully every year, so that the next day their companions would be buried again, after hand-to-hand combat with the reappeared protectors who materialized before them to lock them away again.
Her spell never worked on another protector or another witch; sadly, it only served for her own liberation. But she noted that the protectors took longer and longer to reappear… since millions of humans worshipped and made offerings to the dead and to entities they thought they knew, but which empowered the magical powers of those witches.
The drastic thing about it all was that the witches freed for those hours followed the same diet as their savior, and from then on, sincere and gentlemanly men began to disappear from this world. The witches were the only ones always within their reach, since they recognized them from miles away, and these men were always the first to come to their aid.
For her part, the Boszorkány hid for the rest of the year, hunting all kinds of men every day to confuse and shield herself from her protector. It was an eternal chase in which the cunning witch was always one step ahead… In any case, he couldn’t get close enough without dying. The situation will always favor that shrewd witch.

If you’re a man, I hope you never run into her; and if you’re a woman, I hope you never summon her, because to confuse her protector, she always claims what was granted.
If you liked it or hated it, let me know in the comments. I’ll be grateful. =)
